カンジダ・オーリス（Candida auris）は患者間で急速に伝播するようであるが、環境消毒および皮膚除菌の有効性に関する情報は不足している。定量的懸濁試験（EN 13624:2013）により、様々な非生体および生体化学消毒薬のC. auris およびカンジダ・アルビカンス（Candida auris）に対する殺酵母活性を評価した。懸濁試験では、塩素系消毒薬およびヨード系皮膚消毒薬はどちらも C. auris に対して有効であったことから、これらを適切に使用すれば、それぞれ環境汚染、および皮膚保菌を低減できる可能性が示唆された。クロルヘキシジン製剤も有効である可能性があるが、本研究では、活性は製剤、特にイソプロピルアルコールの存在に依存した。

多剤耐性かつ侵襲性が高く、海外で散発的なアウトブレイクを起こしている今話題のCandida auris に対する消毒に関する基礎的検討である。通常のカンジダ属と同様に、ヨード系消毒薬や塩素系消毒薬など一般的な消毒薬が活性を有するようである。
