A survey of caesarean section surgical site infections with PICO^™ Single Use Negative Pressure Wound Therapy System in high-risk patients in England and Ireland

本稿では、英国およびアイルランドの 4 病院において体格指数（BMI）高値で帝王切開を受ける患者に対する PICO^™ システムの導入における監査データを報告する。PICO^™ システムを、BMI 35 kg/m² 以上の患者 399 例で帝王切開後の手術創閉鎖に用いた。399 例中 36 例（9.0％）で手術部位感染症（SSI）の徴候が発現し、この発生率は以前に同様の集団で報告された 19.3％という発生率より低かった。再入院率は 0.8％であった。したがって、この高リスク集団において手術創閉鎖に対する PICO システムの使用は、SSI および再入院の発生率低下に関連する可能性がある。
