糞便細菌叢移植（FMT）の最適な投与経路は不明である。本単一施設観察研究では、2013 年から 2016 年にかけて FMT を受けた全患者における 2 週間の治癒率を投与経路別に分析した。全体で、FMT の経鼻胃投与は内視鏡的投与よりも効果が低かった。患者を疾患重症度によって層別化すると、より重症度の低い患者では経鼻胃投与は同様の治癒率を示したが、比較的重症度の高い患者では内視鏡的投与が優れていた。経鼻胃投与は内視鏡的投与より効果が低い可能性があるが、費用、前処置および生じ得るリスクを考慮すると、この差は軽度疾患患者では臨床的意義はない可能性がある。

監訳者コメント：
糞便移植の方法に関する検討である。内視鏡的投与は下部消化管内視鏡により虫垂付近に投与している。より病変部位に近いところに移植するという意味では内視鏡的投与が有用な可能性がある。単に投与するといっても、実際には色々と検討すべき項目は多そうである。
