Effect of music on surgical hand disinfection: a video-based intervention study

手術時の手指消毒は、様々な因子の影響を受ける可能性がある。本研究の目的は、手術時の手指消毒の実施中に音楽を聴くことの影響を評価することであった。合計で、236 件の手術時の手指消毒手技をビデオに録画した。手術時の手指消毒の実施時間は、介入群と対照群の両方で 2 分を超えており、バックグラウンドミュージックにより手洗いに費やされる時間の増加は達成できなかった。しかし、音楽を聴くことにより、極めて短い手洗い時間（90 秒未満）の割合が 17％から 9％に低下した（P ＝ 0.07）。平均の手洗い時間を有意に増加させた因子は、女性、スタッフのランクが低いこと、グループでの手洗い、およびストップウォッチの使用の 4 つであった。観察された改善は有意性には達しなかったが、バックグラウンドミュージックは極めて短い時間の手洗いを行う医療従事者の 10％には有用となる可能性がある。

音楽を流すことで、幾分手指衛生行動の時間は適正な方向に向くことが分かった。しかし、音楽だけでは適切な手指衛生の完全な遵守は難しいが、動画の場合はどうなのだろうか？
