Comparison of two single-use scrub suits in terms of effect on air-borne bacteria in the operating room

手術室において空中細菌数を少なくすることは、全スタッフが低透過性素材による衣服（すなわちクリーンエアスーツ）を着用すれば達成可能である。本研究は、2 種類のポリプロピレン製単回使用手術衣において防御効果に差があるかどうかを、整形外科でルーチンに実施されている手術において両者を試着して検討した。両術衣間で空気中の菌数（コロニー形成単位数/m³）に有意差は認められなかった。したがって術衣は、スタッフにとってより快適なタイプを選択可能であるといえる。

監訳者コメント：
検討が行われたスウェーデンでは、手術室の構造を考慮し、整形外科手術の際の手術室の空中細菌数を 10 個（＝コロニー形成単位数）/m³未満とするよう求められている。今回の単回手術衣着用において、空中細菌数は平均でそれぞれ 2.5 ～ 15.5 個/m³、1.3 ～ 7.5 個/m³であり、両者の間に差はみられなかった。ただし低透過性素材であるため、内部が蒸れてしまい、不快になるのが課題であった。
