Application of water-soluble nanofilters for collection of airborne Mycobacterium tuberculosis DNA in hospital wards

院内感染症における、空中浮遊バイオマーカーの簡単かつ安価な採取法を報告する。家庭用電気掃除機に取り付けた水溶性電解紡糸ナノフィルタを用いて、結核病院の複数病棟において 6 ～ 10m³ の空気から10 ～ 15 分間にわたりバイオマーカーを採取した。次いでフィルタを水中に溶解し、リアルタイム PCR 法を用いて結核菌（Mycobacterium tuberculosis）のIS6110 および regX3 遺伝子の有無を検査した。その結果、微量の空中浮遊結核菌 DNA（遺伝子コピー数 ＞ 3 個/m³）が、喀痰塗抹陽性の結核患者を収容している病棟内の空気中および表面上に常に存在することが示された。

監訳者コメント：
エアロゾルを採取するサンプラーの能力は、吸入容量や捉えられる粒子径、フィルターなどに大きく左右される。また消費電力も問題である。空中浮遊結核菌を効率よく集菌し、フィルターから回収する方法が模索されてきたが、今回の方法もその有力な一法といえよう。今後のさらなる改良により、空気感染の実態の理解と対策の向上への貢献に期待したい。
