New technology markedly improves hand-hygiene performance among healthcare workers after restroom visits

医療従事者の手指に存在する病原体が患者に及ぼすリスクは高いが、医療従事者の手指衛生遵守率は低い。我々は、医療従事者の手指衛生遵守を改善するために、新しい手指衛生剤とりわけ技術の前向き介入試験をデザインした。トイレ使用後に使用者に手指衛生遵守を思い出させる電子機器の導入を含む介入の前（ベースライン）と後にそれぞれ 3 か月間、手指衛生遵守を観察した。トイレ使用後の医療従事者の手指衛生成績における遵守率は 66％から介入後には 91％に上昇した。

Sanalert V1 という監視装置付きディスペンサーの活用で劇的に手指衛生遵守率が向上したという報告である。こうしたシステムは既に 30 社以上から登場しているが，コストやプライバシーが行く手を阻む場合が多い。
