Ozonated water is inferior to propanol-based hand rubs for disinfecting hands

オゾンは酸化作用を持つ強力な殺菌剤であり、広域スペクトルの抗菌特性を有する。本研究の目的は、手指消毒におけるオゾンとプロパノールベースの擦式手指消毒製剤の有効性を比較することであった。in vivo クロスオーバー試験（prEN 12791）に被験者 20 例を登録した。被験者は、参照製剤（60％プロパン -1- オール）またはオゾン（4 ppm）で手指洗浄を行った。洗浄後の細菌数を、片手（即時効果）と 3 時間手袋を装着したもう片方の手（遅延効果）で計数した。本研究から、手指消毒においてオゾンは 60％プロパン -1- オール手指消毒製剤に劣ることが示された。
