Role of healthcare apparel and other healthcare textiles in the transmission of pathogens: a review of the literature

医療従事者は、下記に示すようないくつかの理由でスクラブ（術衣）や白衣などのユニフォームを着用する。（1）医療従事者が自分らを病院職員として患者や雇用者と区別できるようにするため、（2）専門家らしい態度を示すため、および（3）勤務交代時の予期せぬ曝露から私服を防護するため。医療従事者の衣服は、感染症や疾患の原因となり得る微生物や病原体で汚染されている場合が多いことを示唆するエビデンスが増加している。大半のスクラブや白衣は現在も、私服の製作に用いられるものと同じ従来の繊維で作られているが、新しいエビデンスによれば、今日の革新的な繊維は工学的制御機能を有しており、バイオバーデンレベルや微生物の持続性を低下させることによって、感染性病原体の捕捉、保持、および伝播を最小化する。本稿では、医療環境で着用されている衣服が医療関連病原体の捕捉および伝播に果たす役割に関する最近の文献について、その概要を示す。また、医療環境に存在する微生物の伝播を減少させると考えられる解決法や技術的介入を提示する。医療用衣服は、疫学的に重要な環境表面に関する新たな研究領域である。

医療者の衣服の汚染や洗濯に関する論文のレビューであり、情報集としても役立つ。ちなみに、「一般の事務職は、1 時間に 15.7 回、目、鼻、口を触っている」らしい。医療者はそれ以下であろうと思われるが、意識しないとつい触ってしまうのだろう。
