Laboratory exposure to Brucella melitensis in Denmark: a prospective study

ブルセラ属菌（Brucella species）は、しばしば検査室感染の原因菌となる。本報告では、ブルセラ症非流行地域の大規模微生物検査施設で17名の検査室職員に発生したブルセラ・メリテンシス（Brucella melitensis）検査室曝露に対する処置について述べる。著者らは米国疾病対策センター（CDC）のガイドラインに従っていたが、高リスク曝露に分類された 14 名の職員の中には曝露後予防薬投与を受けていた者はなかった。しかし、曝露を受けた検査室職員には、6 か月の追跡調査期間中にブルセラ症を発症した者はなく、採取した血清はすべて抗ブルセラ抗体陰性であった。したがって、通常の血清検査による追跡調査の意義は疑問視される。

14 名の曝露事例をもとに抗体によるフォローアップ検査の実施を否定することは難しいと思われる。
