Outbreak of postoperative empyema caused by Serratia marcescens in a thoracic surgery unit

当院の呼吸器外科部門の集中治療室（ICU）で、2013 年 3 月 3 日から 19 日にセラチア・マルセセンス（Serratia marcescens）による術後膿胸の症例数の増加が認められた。患者から胸水サンプルを採取し、手術室および ICU から環境サンプルを採取した。合計 8 株の分離株（胸水から 6 株、ICU の可動式吸引装置から 2 株）が S. marcescens として同定された。rep-PCR 法により、すべての分離株が同一であることが判明した。本稿は、汚染された可動式吸引装置が関連する S. marcescens アウトブレイクの最初の報告である。
