Probable nosocomial transmission of listeriosis in neonates

フランスの同一の病院で連続して出生した 2 例の新生児からリステリア・モノサイトゲネス（Listeria monocytogenes）が分離された。両分離株はパルスフィールド・ゲル電気泳動（PFGE）プロファイルでは区別不能であった。後向きの疫学調査からは、食物媒介性および環境感染源のエビデンスは認められなかった。感染制御プロトコールおよび汚染除去処理については標準的な推奨事項に従っていた。同一の産科病棟内でこれらの感染が発生したタイミングおよび PFGE プロファイルの類似性から、この 2 例の新生児間で L. monocytogenes の交差感染が生じたことが示唆される。

監訳者コメント：
新生児リステリア症のほとんどは母胎からの感染であるが、本論文は新生児におけるリステリア症の院内伝播が否定できなかった事例の報告である。日本においても輸入チーズや輸入生ハムによる食中毒報告事例があるが、新生児での院内感染事例はこれまでに報告がなく、貴重な情報である。
