Outbreak of Pseudomonas fluorescens bloodstream infection in a coronary care unit

冠疾患集中治療室で発生した患者 6 例のシュードモナス・フルオレッセンス（Pseudomonas fluorescens）感染症アウトブレイクは、過去に報告例のない感染源である心拍出量測定のために使用した氷槽に関連していた。P. fluorescens による偽性菌血症アウトブレイクや、何例かの輸血関連血流感染症がこれまでに報告されている。しかし、P. fluorescens 血流感染症アウトブレイクについてはこの 20 年間で 2 件の報告があるのみで、本論文は 3 件目の報告となる。血液培養により P. fluorescens が分離された場合は、医師は注入液、ロック溶液、またはカテーテルフラッシュでの汚染の可能性に注意を払う必要がある。

監訳者コメント：
アウトブレイクの感染源は生食シリンジを冷却するための氷槽であり、冷却を中止した後、アウトブレイクは終息した。約半年間にわたり 6 例の症例が探知されているが、長期にわたり氷槽が汚染されていたとすれば、感染対策に問題があったと思われ、その管理が気にかかるところである。
