Infection control practices in facilities for highly infectious diseases across Europe

背景
感染性の強い感染症（HID）患者の管理は、他の患者や医療従事者の安全を損なわずに高水準の医療を提供することが要求されるため、課題の 1 つとなっている。
目的
European Network for Highly Infectious Diseases（EuroNHID）プロジェクトに参加している隔離施設を対象として、感染制御実践の調査を実施すること。
方法
2009 年に、欧州 16 か国の HID 患者のケアを行う隔離施設 48 か所で調査を実施した。チェックリストおよび標準化した評価用フォームを使用し、手指衛生、日常的な衛生・消毒実践、および廃棄物管理に関するデータの収集・解釈を行った。
結果
HID 患者隔離施設の 40％には手動式ではない流し台またはアルコール製消毒薬供給器が設置されておらず、27％には日常的な衛生実践、最終消毒、または使い捨てではない物品・器具の安全な廃棄についての手順が定められていなかった。廃棄物管理および清掃職員の研修には大きなばらつきがあった。EuroNHID は手指衛生、消毒、日常的な衛生実践、および廃棄物管理に関する勧告を作成した。
結論
HID 患者のケアを担う欧州の隔離施設の大半では、手指衛生、日常的な衛生・消毒実践、および廃棄物管理は、ほとんどの面で少なくとも部分的には適切であると考えられた。しかし、廃棄物管理および清掃職員の研修は概して不十分であり、大きなばらつきが認められた。
