Economic burden of ventilator-associated pneumonia in a developing country

内科集中治療室（MICU）の患者 159 例中 96 例（60％）が人工呼吸器関連肺炎（VAP）を発症し、発生率は 1,000 人工呼吸器日あたり 37.2 件であった。VAP 発症までの期間の中央値は 5.5 日（範囲 2 ～ 25 日）であった。VAP のリスク因子のうち最も有意性が高いものは、MICU 入室前の入院、および MICU 入室期間であった。VAP 患者の平均 MICU 入室期間は 23.8 ± 19.8 日で、非 VAP 患者の 4 倍であった。VAP 患者の 1 日あたりのコストは非 VAP 患者の半分であった。VAP 患者に要したコストの総額は、非 VAP 患者の約 3 倍であった。
