Hospital infestations by the moth fly, Clogmia albipunctata (Diptera: Psychodinae), in Germany

オオチョウバエ（Clogmia albipunctata）は以前は地中海沿岸でみられた種であるが、現在ではドイツの北緯 53°を越える地域でもみられる。オオチョウバエは生態系をヒトと共有して行動するため、病院の建物内で年間を通して発生することも多い。病院内での発生場所は、病棟のシャワー室とトイレが最も多く、次いで備品貯蔵室、そして病院調理場のトイレとシャワー室である。好んで繁殖する部位は、患者のシャワー室の毛髪の詰まったシンク、使用頻度が低いトイレや小便器、および気づかれないパイプの水漏れによる水たまりなどであり、このことから、駆除のためには病院の水回りと害虫の管理の強化が必要であることが示唆される。
