医学生を対象としたオンラインの感染予防・制御プログラムの開発と評価を行った。517 名の学生の 2 つのモジュール修了後の知識スコアには統計学的に有意な改善が認められた（P ＜ 0.0001）。評価終了後の学生の大半は、この学習経験に対して肯定的であった。

約 45 分間のセッションを 2 つ、細菌学の授業時間の中で自己学習させることにより、医学生の感染防止に関する知識が増大したというもの。知識の評価の具体的な項目は示されていないが、スコア化されており、セッション 1 が 84 点から 90 点、セッション 2 が 78 点から 85 点に上昇している。学生の評価もよく、教員にもあまり負担にならないこのe ラーニングシステムは、本邦でも取り入れていくべき手法の 1 つであると考えられる。
