Trends in antimicrobial resistance of clinical isolates of Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium in Greece between 2002 and 2007

2002年から2007年にギリシャの3次病院で臨床的感染患者から回収したエンテロコッカス・フェカーリス（Enterococcus faecalis）（1,498株）およびエンテロコッカス・フェシウム（Enterococcus faecium）（625株）の抗菌薬耐性の傾向を解析した。分子的検査法を用い、バンコマイシン耐性腸球菌（VRE）の種レベルの同定および遺伝子タイピングを行った。E. faecalisおよびE. faeciumによる入院1,000件あたりの感染率は試験期間中に上昇した（傾向検定のχ² ＝ 25.5および13.3、P ＜ 0.0001）。E. faecalis/E. faeciumの耐性率は、アンピシリン1.3％/82.4％、高用量ゲンタマイシン45.6％/51.2％、高用量ストレプトマイシン48.9％/69.1％、バンコマイシン0.5％/9.6％、テイコプラニン0.1％/8.2％、およびリネゾリド0.3％/1.6％であった。vanA遺伝子はVRE分離株の79.1％から検出され、残りの20.1％からはvanBが検出された。抗菌薬耐性の傾向の解析から、E. faecium分離株のアンピシリン耐性率が一貫して高いことが示された。両腸球菌ともに、高用量ゲンタマイシンおよび高用量ストレプトマイシン耐性が有意に上昇していた（P ＜ 0.0001）。このような注意を喚起すべき傾向がみられるにもかかわらず、オキサゾリジノン系耐性を示す株は当地域では散発的と考えられ、グリコペプチド系耐性率の上昇傾向は認められなかった。
