UK healthcare workers’ knowledge of meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus practice guidelines; a questionnaire study

効果的な感染制御を実施するためには、最新の感染制御ガイドラインの知識と遵守が必要である。多くの適切な医療従事者群を対象として、最近発表されたメチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌（Staphylococcus aureus）（MRSA）予防に関するガイドラインの知識を、新しい質問票ツールを用いて評価した。英国のMRSA臨床ガイドラインに基づいて、正誤を問う10題の問題からなる質問票を作成した。この質問票で、医療従事者群および対照群の合計293名の知識を評価した。対象者は、英国医学会の年次代表者会議に参加した医師188名、外科研修医学会（Association of Surgeons in Training）の年次集会に参加した外科研修医52名、非臨床対照集団30名、および感染制御看護師（ICN）23名であった。知識レベルのスコアの平均値（SD）は医師6.6（1.68）、非臨床対照集団4.7（1.8）、およびICN 8.4（1.12）であった。知識レベルは職種群間（P ＜ 0.001）、対象者の英国の勤務地（UK employment region）（P ＝ 0.01）、および医師の専門分野（P ＝ 0.02）で有意差が認められた。対象者の職階および性別は、知識レベルの相違と有意な関連がなかった。今回の質問票調査は、非臨床集団、医療従事者、および感染制御専門スタッフにおけるMRSA臨床ガイドラインに関する知識レベルを判別するための識別力のある新しい質問票ツールを評価したものであり、MRSAに関する教育的介入を迅速に評価するための手段を提供する。著者らは、これらの知識レベルが低いことと関連する医療従事者集団の人口統計学的データを示した。知識向上のための医療従事者に対する現行の教育プログラムの修正およびMRSA予防策の最善の実践を考慮する必要がある。
