Change in environmental bacterial flora in a new hospital building

新築病棟の微生物叢の変化を調査するために、環境細菌の微生物サーベイランスを実施した。2002年から2005年に、床とシンクの空中細菌および表面付着細菌を系統的に収集した。使用頻度の高い床から採取した分離株数は、使用頻度の低い床と比較して有意に多かった。新館開業から8か月から11か月後に、黄色ブドウ球菌（Staphylococcus aureus）の著しい増加、緑膿菌（Pseudomonas aeruginosa）の出現、グラム陰性桿菌の菌種の変化が認められた。さらに、パルスフィールド・ゲル電気泳動法（PFGE）によるメチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌（MRSA）および緑膿菌のタイピングから、複数のシンクと床、および隣接する旧館から採取した分離株が同じPFGEグループに属することが示された。新館から採取したMRSA分離株数は経時的に増加した。同一のPFGE型を有する緑膿菌株が分離されたシンクは、共通の配水管でつながっている。人の動きは、細菌叢および細菌の拡散に大きな影響を及ぼす。
