Meticillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus contamination of healthcare workers’ uniforms in long-term care facilities

長期ケア施設では、メチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌（MRSA）やその他の多剤耐性菌が高い頻度で分離される。本研究では、3か所の長期ケア施設で職員の衣服の汚染を評価した。制服とそのポケットから500件以上のサンプルを採取したところ、これらのサンプルには高度なMRSA汚染が認められた。ビニール製のエプロンを着用してポケットの内容物を整理すると、汚染率は改善した。医療従事者は自分の制服に触れることが多く、ケアの前に手指が汚染される可能性があるため、引き続いて手指衛生が重要であることが本研究の結果から強調される。
