Biofilm formation by persistent and non-persistent isolates of Staphylococcus epidermidis from a neonatal intensive care unit

新生児の表皮ブドウ球菌（Staphylococcus epidermidis）持続感染および非持続感染からの臨床分離株161株を対象として、バイオフィルム形成とicaADBC遺伝子の存在との関連を検討した。バイオフィルム形成の比較は、ブドウ糖添加（0.5～9.23％）または非添加のトリプチケースソイブロス（TSB）および9.23％ブドウ糖含有完全経静脈栄養液中で行った。icaADBC遺伝子検出は、PCR法とica特異的プライマーを用いて行った。全分離株のバイオフィルム形成量は1％ブドウ糖添加TSBで最大であり、次いでTSB、完全経静脈栄養液であった。培地条件が異なっても、持続感染分離株と非持続感染分離株のバイオフィルム形成量に有意差はなかった。一方、完全経静脈栄養液中では持続感染分離株の70％がバイオフィルムを産生したのに対し、非持続感染分離株は56.3％であった。持続感染菌の表現型およびicaADBCオペロンの存在はいずれも、バイオフィルム形成との相関を示さなかった。
