Survival of enveloped and non-enveloped viruses on surfaces compared with other micro-organisms and impact of suboptimal disinfectant exposure

ポリ塩化ビニル製の試験用キャリアの表面上で、有機基質存在下または非存在下で乾燥させたエンベロープウイルスおよび非エンベロープウイルスの生存を、細菌、酵母、およびマイコバクテリアと比較した。グルタルアルデヒドおよびAccelerated Hydrogen Peroxide^※による消毒の効果を検討した。非エンベロープウイルスであるレオウイルスの生存は持続し、30日後の減少係数^※※は2であったのに対し、同期間のエンテロコッカス・フェカーリス（Enterococcus faecalis）の減少係数は4であった。その他の試験微生物［シンドビスウイルス、緑膿菌、マイコバクテリウム・ケロナエ（Mycobacterium chelonae）、カンジダ・アルビカンス（Candida albicans）］の生存にはばらつきがあったが、30日間にわたり生存したものはなかった。グルタルアルデヒドおよびAccelerated Hydrogen Peroxideは、製造者が推奨する高水準消毒のための希釈濃度で効果を示した。しかし、M. chelonaeのグルタルアルデヒド耐性株を除去できたのは7％Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxideのみであった。すべての試験微生物に対して生存のブレイクスルーがみられた消毒薬の濃度は、グルタルアルデヒド0.1％、Accelerated Hydrogen Peroxide 0.05％であった。これらのデータは、病原体の伝播を予防するためには、院内の効果的な洗浄および消毒が必要であることを示している。

病原体により環境中の残存期間が異なることを明確に示した論文。知見そのものはさほど新しくはないと思われるが、消毒薬の効果とともに見ており、結果がわかりやすくなっている。
