Web-based reporting of the results of the 2006 Four Country Prevalence Survey of Healthcare Associated Infections

2006年度に実施された医療関連感染有病率調査の結果を、イングランド、ウェールズ、北アイルランドのすべての参加病院に適時にフィードバックするため、ウェブベースの報告システムを開発した。250を超える病院の約75,000件の記録をデータベースに収容した。報告システムは英国国民保健サービス（NHS）のイントラネットにホスティングした上で、セキュリティをかけたログインによってアクセスすることを可能とした。ユーザーは既定の一連のレポートを介して個々の医療機関のデータにアクセスできるようになっており、また追加解析ができるようにデータのエクスポート機能を搭載した。参加病院では調査の終了から12か月間、この報告システムを利用できるようにした。ユーザー満足度の調査結果によると、エンドユーザーは、このフォーマットによるフィードバックを受けることに肯定的な回答を示した。この報告システムは今後の有病率調査の結果をフィードバックするための有用なモデルとなるであろう。

「サーベイランスとは、罹患率と死亡率を低下させて医療を改善するための活動に用いるために、医療に関連したイベントに関するデータを継続的、体系的に収集することと定義される」前提で考えても、電子情報システムを用いたタイムリーな現場へのフィードバック、さらにそれぞれの医療機関における解析のための情報提供システムなど、極めて有用なモデルであり、システムを構築する上で参考にすべき点は極めて多い。
