Ultrasonically nebulised electrolysed oxidizing water: a promising new infection control programme for impressions, metals and gypsum casts used in dental hospitals

歯科医院における歯科印象、金属、および歯科鋳造模型を介する感染症伝播の制御は依然として課題であり、現在の消毒方法には種々の欠点がある。本研究では、超音波噴霧式電解酸化水（UNEOW）の新たな感染管理プログラムとしての利用可能性について、予備的評価を紹介し、提示する。新たに生成した電解酸化水（EOW）からUNEOWを発生させ、歯科印象、チタンおよび石膏の試料に対して以下の処理を施した。（1）1％次亜塩素酸ナトリウムに10分間浸漬、（2）EOWに10分間浸漬、（3）UNEOWに15、30、45分間曝露、（4）消毒なし（対照）。殺菌効果は、黄色ブドウ球菌およびバチルス・サブティリス変種ニガー（Bacillus subtilis var. niger）芽胞を指標として評価した。また、各試料で寸法精度、表面性状、および腐食作用の評価も行った。その結果、石膏模型上のB. subtilis var. niger芽胞を除き、UNEOWで30～45分間処理後の細菌数減少を示すlog₁₀値は、すべて4を超えていた。歯科印象の寸法変化は、対照群とUNEOW群で差を認めず、両群ともにEOW群および次亜塩素酸ナトリウム群より有意に低値であった（P＜0.05）。また、歯科印象および石膏鋳造模型の表面性状についても同様であった。UNEOWで45分間処理を行ったチタン表面には、評価可能な腐食を認めなかった。今回の知見から、UNEOWの使用は、歯科施設における歯科印象、石膏鋳造模型、および義歯用金属を介する感染症伝播の制御のための利用可能かつ有望なアプローチであることが示された。
