医療の現場における適切な手指衛生の実践は、医療関連感染の予防、制圧、および減少のための最も効果的な手段である。手指衛生の実践と対象を明確にしたキャンペーンは広く導入されているが、手指衛生を確実に普及させるためのサーベイランスは依然として限られている。サーベイランスは感染制御のキャンペーンに重要な要素であることは広く受け入れられている。そこで著者らは、病院での手指消毒用の簡便なサーベイランスツールの作成と検証を目的として、中国の9病院で試験的に3カ月間にわたり、これらを実施した。この論文では今回作成した手指消毒のサーベイランスツール、およびこれを使用するための明確なガイドラインを紹介する。
