Efficacy of super-oxidized water fogging in environmental decontamination

メチシリン耐性黄色ブドウ球菌（MRSA）とAcinetobacter baumanniiに対するSteriloxの噴霧による除菌の有効性を検討した。セラミック製タイルに試験細菌を接種していったん乾燥させ、3 mの距離に設置した定置式気化装置を用いて超酸化水Steriloxを10分間噴霧し、さらに1時間放置した。同じ細菌を用いた2番目の実験では、最初の10分間の噴霧期間に続き、1 mの距離から30秒間の定方向噴霧を行った。タイルからの細菌の培養は、トリプトンソーヤ寒天上に溶出液を塗布して、48時間インキュベートした。両細菌とも最初の菌量はおよそ109コロニー形成単位/mLであったが、1回の噴霧によりMRSAは約1/104に、A. baumanniiは約1/105.8に減少した。両細菌とも2回目の噴霧で1/106.8に減少した。Sterilox噴霧は安全で、使用が容易であり、院内感染起因菌の濃度をおよそ1/107に減少させることが可能である。臨床環境における種々の表面の様々な細菌に対しても、同様の殺菌作用があるかどうかを判定する臨床評価を実施する価値がある。

監訳者コメント：
Steriloxの主成分は次亜塩素酸であり、環境表面の細菌に対する殺菌力は比較的強いと思われる。次亜塩素酸はこれまで使用経験も豊富で、日常の消毒や漂白にも使用されている。上手に使えば有用な薬剤だと考えられる。本論文は大変参考になる。
