マイクロファイバークロスの汚染除去特性についての実験室内評価★

医療施設での清浄度の規準が、現在も注目を集めている。効果的な洗浄にはエネルギーが必要であり、マイクロファイバークロスは汚物の物理的除去に役立つ可能性がある。一定の湿潤状態および乾燥状態で、これらの布地が有機汚物(ATP値により測定)および細菌を除去する能力を、ペーパータオルおよび通常の布地と比較した。乾燥した表面に対して湿潤状態で使用した場合、6種類の異なるマイクロファイバークロスの洗浄効果にはばらつきがあり、そのほとんどは、ペーパータオルまたは通常の布地より有意に優れてはいなかった。マイクロファイバークロスのうち1種類は、他のマイクロファイバークロスおよびペーパータオルより、有機汚物および菌量を減少させるうえで有意に優れていた。乾燥した表面に対して乾燥状態で使用すると、布地間に有意差は認められず、菌および有機物のバイオバーデンを効果的に減少した布地はなかった。また、布地が表面を再汚染する程度を測定したところ、一部のマイクロファイバークロスは他の布地より有機物の残滓および菌を表面に戻すことが有意に少なかった。マイクロファイバークロスは製造方法により特性が異なり、「マイクロファイバー」という名称は優れた洗浄効果を意味するものではない。
